WE ARE STAYING IN PORT JERVIS!
Preserving Railroading Heritage
SINCE 1985
Local History is on track!
The Port Jervis Railroad Museum preserves the railroading heritage of Port Jervis, New York and the surrounding Orange County region. Once a “railroad town” where nearly all of the City’s population worked for the railroad or a related industry, Port Jervis was the site of a massive Erie Railroad maintenance facility, roundhouse, and turntable. The century-old turntable survives today as the centerpiece of our museum, which celebrates the people and the machines that built the City of Port Jervis and shaped daily life for its residents from the 1850s to the 1980s. Over two dozen operable, historic railcars are on display year-round, with several containing exhibited artifacts of Port Jervis’s past.
